After the hand-drawn comics had utterly failed, at least in my mind, I was really mad, mostly at myself. I had spent weeks going on and on about how great the hand-drawn comics were going to be, touting its supposed greatness to all the dozen or so readers, and then the whole thing blew up in my face. At least, that's how it felt at the time. I was completely unhappy with the way things turned out, having rushed things and ruined the whole thing. Not knowing what else to do, but still feeling some odd need to salvage the comic as a whole, I returned to the sprite comic filler. Given that the characters at the time weren't terribly happy with being in the comic to begin with, I imagined they'd be pretty pissed that at having been called back against their will.

All things considered, though, I suppose it's probably better that the hand-drawn comic did fail. I doubt the comic would be where it is today, be what it is today, if I had actually stuck with the hand-drawn comic. I mean, what's another hand-drawn comic about wacky adventures in college versus a comic that started a whole genre of webcomics?
