By this point, I had given up on using other people's scanners to try to get the hand-drawn comic ready. I didn't have a clue about how I wanted the pictures to look, and it was such a hassle to keep running down the hall and asking to use the scanner each time I had a new technique I wanted to digitize. So I finally went out and got my own scanner, which I still have.
In case you care, it's a little Canon CanoScan, and runs entirely through a USB port. A friend of mine made fun of it, commenting that it must run on only 5 volts. I guess it does, but that's a bad thing? Do I need a gasoline-powered, 235 hp scanner to be a real man? Anyway, as an indication to my few readers that the hand-drawn comic had finally reached a point that I felt it was time to switch over, I thought I'd give them all fair warning. I still wasn't using Photoshop, and you can see some crappy dithering around George's head. |
