This was one of those comics that while I might have thought it was funny at the time, I don't really find all that funny anymore. But, I suppose that might happen after a while with anything you write. I mean, calling Proto Man a smelly idiotic goon? Proto Man? Doesn't make any sense now. I'm sure some blame can be placed on not having nailed Proto Man's personality down yet. As far as the joke itself goes, it's supposed to be an allusion to the gag in Star Wars where Leia calls Han a "half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf-herder" and Han only demands to know who's scruffy-looking. Here then, the idea is that Proto Man is only taking offense as the smelly part. Yeah, I know, it's pretty lame. |
