Much like Dr. Light, I simply adore bad puns. But I think the real question you have to ask yourself is why Dr. Light would name his robot "Rock" if he wasn't supposed to know Dr. Wily was going to turn evil and he'd be forced to build "Roll" in the first place. Maybe he wasn't thinking of "Rock and Roll" at the time and when it came time to build another robot, the idea of having Rock and Roll was too good a bad pun to pass up. I know a number of my comics have turned out like that. Of course, I suppose it would be a much simpler explanation if he had just built both Rock and Roll at the same time, but I clearly hadn't thought of that possible when I made this comic. Another thing this comic pokes fun at is Dr. Light's naive nature. Could he really have been so dense as to not know about Dr. Wily's true nature? Or maybe, just maybe, he was aware his partner was evil, but he just didn't care. Maybe he's a fatalist... or maybe he decided it would be an interesting challenge to his abilities to have an adversary like Dr. Wily running around trying to take over the world. Well, anyway you look at it, sometimes he acts really stupid. |
