Since the Author was going to take Mega Man's place int he recreation, he'd have to be transformed into 8-bits, as Mega Man was a few weeks prior. In fact, the Author's line in the third panel is a direct reference to what Mega Man said as he was being transformed. You might notice, however, that there were four panels during Mega Man's transformation, while there are only three here. That's because I couldn't find a helmet-less sprite of Mega Man from his Game Gear appearance to recolor. Oh, and the title is an allusion to President Skroob's line in Space Balls when he's beamed in backwards. |
