As the sprites were supposed to be filler until I could get my hands on a scanner, I needed to actually make some comics using them. I looked over the sprite sheets I'd downloaded from a site called Heatman's Homepage (now Sprites, Inc.) and found that sprite of the steamroller-bot (known as the Mad Grinder) seen above. I thought the idea of our intrepid hero trying to intimidate a robotic death machine three times his size was funny, so I put it into comic form. You might notice that in the first two original comics, I hadn't yet settled on Comic Sans as the comic's font (which I would later change to Myriad Roman). |
