I'd been waiting to use the joke of Kalinka getting stuck in the ducts since the first time Ran broke, but I had to wait to set up the situation. You know, it seems to me that having an air duct system with one region large enough for a person to comfortably stand with shorter regions on each end that can be easily blocked is a pretty effective anti-burglary device, specially designed to trap people who try to sneak in through the giant air duct right next to the front door. If I didn't know better, I'd say Dr. Wily set up this whole thing on purpose.
