I may have added a few things, but more or less, this is Ran's actual backstory. To differentiate the present from the flashback, I made the flashbacks for this part of the storyline washed-out. Once I got into the real storyline, I stopped doing that, since I'm sure it would have gotten really annoying after a while, especially for me.
