Given the size of the crater and the sheer amount of damage, if I didn't know any better I'd probably think they were dead too. One thing I always found rather discouraging about having a sprite comic isn't that I couldn't cash in quite the same way other comics could. Because the characters are copyrighted, I couldn't put their images on T-shirts or other merchandise and sell them. The best I could do is put the comic's logo on the merchandise, along with a couple of other designs. And don't even get me started on the money I could've made off books...
