It was just about this time I realized, much to my dismay, that I had completely forgotten that Chadling was supposed to be stuck in the Alternate Dimension. How was I to explain his presence here? I could've spent several comics answering that question with some half-assed explanation, or I could just bypass the entire issue by not letting anyone question it. And thus, the Helmeted Author was introduced.

To be honest, the Helmeted Author was never intended to be a new character. My original intent was to have the Author show up and hit Mega Man for bringing up a plothole. But, try as I might, I couldn't get the punching sprite to look right without the helmet, so I kept the helmet on him and decided that the Author was now, for no good reason, wearing a helmet. I swear, I really had no idea where it would lead.

By the way, that punching sprite is part of the animation of Mega Man using Slash Man's weapon from Megaman 7.

Oh, and for the record, the Helmeted Author himself brought Chadling back from the Alternate Dimension. There, no plothole.
